If you're looking for a delicious, hearty side dish to accompany your next braai (barbecue), look no further than Mielie Tert—a South African corn bake that's as comforting as it is flavourful.

 2 Creamed corn
 4 Eggs
 60 ml Melted butter
 60 ml Sugar
 60 ml Flour
 15 ml Baking powder
100 g Grated cheeseoptional, for mixing in and topping
1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamed corn, eggs, melted butter, sugar, flour, and baking powder. Mix until smooth and well combined.

3

If you love cheesy goodness, stir in the grated cheese for an extra layer of flavour (you can also sprinkle some more on top for a crispy, golden finish).

4

Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread it out evenly.

5

Bake for 45 minutes to an hour, or until the top is golden and the dish has set in the centre.

6

Let it cool slightly before serving. You can enjoy it hot or cold—both are equally delicious.
